It will soon be Mother's Day. Here and in Australia. I do miss my old mum ... She had a stroke when she was 49 and her life was a tough one. She is buried in the little country cemetery where there are ducks in a pond in the field beside the cemetery. There are sheep and some cows and lovely shady trees. It 's a very pretty spot where you can see the mountains and also the sea. She came from a big family who lived on a farm, with lots of apple trees and animals so she would like where she is laid to rest. Bless you mum, I'll be thinking of you.

I was thinking about adding some greeting cards to my website. Just cards in a Collection of their own ... for all of us who just want to have a stash of greetings on hand for all the occasions we acknowledge. Here is one I worked on last night.... I hope you like it... click to see if full size and save it from there.

My mum would have loved all the cards I create.. She would always tell me not to bother with a gift... just give her a pretty card... she would love the words already written inside and treasure whatever I gave her ... when she died I found them all in a box ... she had saved them for many years and would string them across the fireplace mantlepiece at any time of year not just at Christmas. She sure did love flowers on cards or in bunches... *(s) .. As do I.
I am happy if I get one white daisy... up here in the ice and snow of Canada we don't have the option of picking our own throughout the year like I did in Australia.
Big bunches of my white daisies I had planted would be all over my house ... they were
refreshing and nice and always made me feel good.

Isn't this such a pretty plate. I was never really "into" pretty plates and crockery when I was younger. Now I love all kinds... from the delicate flowery ones like this one above... to the bright solid red colour very plain ones I bought this past Christmas. I use them all the time not only in December. I've even seen the shows on the Food Channel where a lot of the crockery is red so I guess I'm not the only one who loves the red plates. I also bought some white square ones which come in really handy because they are quite large enough for salad and a bread roll to the side ... the kids enjoy using those because they can pile on a bit more food. Sometimes I think they are a bunch of hungry wolves .... and our little Connor ... I call him a little wolf in training... *(s) He loves his food and he's only 6 months old. Opens his mouth wide when he sees you coming with a bowl and a spoon even though you might be 10 feet away from him still... He's so funny.

A cute way to display your pretty cups and saucers - I've not seen one like this before. I guess you could hang it on the wall or have it on a shelf in your china cabinet. Very "English" and very pretty. I particularly like the shape of the saucer in this one.... cute.

Very pretty vintage cards... Mothers Day I guess... :-))
click on them to see and save them full size. I never was a mum .. but my
darling Wilbur dog would always be there for me on that special day and
give me a big smooch. We would play for ages ... and maybe go for a walk in the
sunshine. I will miss him so much this year on Mothers Day. He was my beautiful
little furbaby.

You know what... :-)) I've only just discovered that some of you have been writing in my guestbook. I don't get a notification when someone does that so it was a lovely surprise to read your comments. Thank you so much for taking the time to write in the book for me. It seems I've inspired some of you to start your own blogs, I've brought tears to others who remember the things I remember about my time back home in Australia with my mum, and lots of you have been saving the goodies I've been sharing with you.

I'm so glad to know that my efforts aren't just for me... :-)) I was thinking on my bad days that perhaps I'm just writing in my blog and nobody is bothering to read it. Bless you all who have written nice things and tell me how much you enjoy it. Sending you hugs.....
