Vintage jewellery... how lovely it is... there's a beautiful site from England... I love the silver bow... they are amongst my favourite things. Bows of all kinds... and I do have some jewellery ones ... a really pretty one given to me by my friend back in Tasmania... and I keep it for special outings. These aren't even that expensive..... makes you wonder who wore them .... what their lives were like, ........

A sweet vintage get well card. Love the red roses. Flowers sure do make us feel better. I can remember many times when I was in hospital and the nurse would bring a bunch of flowers for me from my dear friends .... or maybe from the people at work ... I would make sure they were watered every day ... and as I lay there in the hospital bed with them on the dresser beside me it sure did help to know that people were thinking of me. I love getting flowers... don't have a favourite although I do like just the plain old white daisies ... or the perfume in the boronia from Australia ....... violets and little bouquets ...... arh!!!!!!! so many gorgeous blooms in all sorts of varieties sprouting forth from the soil and showing off in all their glory. How clever is that ??

A pretty vintage birthday greetings card for you... click on the graphic to save it full size.

I shared this desktop wallpaper recently in my Yahoo groups.... so if you aren't a member there and wish to save it ... click to see it full size and save from there. I sure do love the ribbon on her hat. Bows and boxes are some of my favourite things. Bows of all size, colour and fabric. I have metal gold big bows atop my framed stitching positioned on the wall.... and of course some big gold metal ones to hold back my curtain swags ... couldn't leave those back in Australia. :-)

I don't know about you ... but I am not as interested as I used to be when I was much younger .. in the Olympic Games.
~~
These days it seems to be all about steriods and lies and a lot of expense that never seems to be recoverable .... China has a terrible reputation for human abuse and I don't understand why President Bush had to even be there... he's the first President to ever attend an opening ceremony.
~~
I remember the tainted pet food from China, (killing our pets) and the poisonous painted toys from China killing little children .....and other awful things about how they treat their citizens....
~~
I'm afraid I won't be watching the Olympics at all .. They are nothing like they used to be when I was young. They stood for integrity and health, and being the best in the world.
No so.. these days. :-(

Today is glorious... not too hot.. not too cold, nor windy ... and no bugs around..
I sat in my little back garden early this morning and enjoyed the cool breeze around me, and the little hummingbirds who thought perhaps I was their next meal seeing I was wearing a red t-shirt and that's what they like ... if there's red around they will come see what it is ... flying right up to my shoulder and flapping their little wings like tiny helicopters staying in the same place.
~~
It made me think of the wonderful garden parties or times the Victorians must have had outside in their spectacular gardens especially in England ... if they were rich ... they would no doubt wear the beautiful big lacey hats with ribbons and bows, and have tiny little sandwiches to eat.
There would not have been all that much to do in those days so outside drinking tea would have been top of their list if the weather was good. And those cooks would have worked hard beating the cream by hand to put in those delicious cakes. Arh!!!!!!! I miss my Aussie days where we can stay outside all year.... unlike here in Canada where the snow will soon once again be up to my ears.....
