It will soon be Mother's Day. Here and in Australia. I do miss my old mum ... She had a stroke when she was 49 and her life was a tough one. She is buried in the little country cemetery where there are ducks in a pond in the field beside the cemetery. There are sheep and some cows and lovely shady trees. It 's a very pretty spot where you can see the mountains and also the sea. She came from a big family who lived on a farm, with lots of apple trees and animals so she would like where she is laid to rest. Bless you mum, I'll be thinking of you.Wednesday, April 30, 2008

Isn't this such a pretty plate. I was never really "into" pretty plates and crockery when I was younger. Now I love all kinds... from the delicate flowery ones like this one above... to the bright solid red colour very plain ones I bought this past Christmas. I use them all the time not only in December. I've even seen the shows on the Food Channel where a lot of the crockery is red so I guess I'm not the only one who loves the red plates. I also bought some white square ones which come in really handy because they are quite large enough for salad and a bread roll to the side ... the kids enjoy using those because they can pile on a bit more food. Sometimes I think they are a bunch of hungry wolves .... and our little Connor ... I call him a little wolf in training... *(s) He loves his food and he's only 6 months old. Opens his mouth wide when he sees you coming with a bowl and a spoon even though you might be 10 feet away from him still... He's so funny.

Wow isn't this the prettiest curtain tie back you have ever seen. Click to see it full size. It would look gorgeous in a bedrooom all fancied up with pink and cream and very vintage furniture...

You know what... :-)) I've only just discovered that some of you have been writing in my guestbook. I don't get a notification when someone does that so it was a lovely surprise to read your comments. Thank you so much for taking the time to write in the book for me. It seems I've inspired some of you to start your own blogs, I've brought tears to others who remember the things I remember about my time back home in Australia with my mum, and lots of you have been saving the goodies I've been sharing with you.
I'm so glad to know that my efforts aren't just for me... :-)) I was thinking on my bad days that perhaps I'm just writing in my blog and nobody is bothering to read it. Bless you all who have written nice things and tell me how much you enjoy it. Sending you hugs.....
