Such a pretty plate. Not sure how old it would be but probably vintage 1950's.... what a great background for a lovely cake.... share it with friends for a tea time treat. :-)) Anyone for tea.... I miss my girlfriends from Australia popping in to share some tea, talk and tasty goodies.

I love the old postcards... this one is glorious in all its vintage design - click on it to see if full size... I softened it a bit ... dear old santa .... this one has a sweet face I think. Some of them can look awfully grumpy and scarey. I didn't like santa when I was a child. I can remember vividly .. mum taking me to a store to sit on his knee and I wouldn't go near him. The other kids were lining up to tell him what they wanted for Christmas and I cried and put up a real fuss ... I think mum just gave up in the end and let me be... *(s) ... I wasn't having anything to do with him.....

Wow.. have a close up look at this pretty creation.. by clicking on the image above.. Its a table runner ... but what a fancy table you'd need to have even before you put this on it... to do it justice... no ordinary table would do.... perhaps a boudoir where you could dream of being very rich and having a maid to come with your tea at breakfast time.
Absolutely stunning workmanship, soft and gentile colours, embellishments to die for .. just gorgeous.

This is such a pretty quilt... I didn't make it but I think I might have
to try one of these. Soft, pastel pinks and pale blues... with florals and
perhaps adding some lace... wouldn't that be really gorgeous.
A simple plain panel in the centre and all around it squares of co-ordinating colours ..
I will have to go shopping I think for some more pretty fabrics..
and it will give me something else to do in the long, cold winter months....
It's very shabby chic or vintage looking.. I can imagine those Victorians
making these... or maybe they commissioned their maids to do it for them.
