The last survivor of the Titanic died last Sunday. Bless her... she was only 2 months old when the disaster happened. And such a nice thing Leonardo di Caprio and Kate Winslet did recently .... offering to pay her nursing home fees for her ......... she will now be with her mum, and brother who both survived ... and with her father .. who tragically died on that fateful night. She was 97 years old.... Rest in Peace dear lady.

Interesting

It was customary during the 1800's for women to exchange buttons from their garments with loved-ones who would then sew the souvenir onto a wide, black elastic band. An extravagant bracelet indicated a well-loved woman.

What a wonderful custom. But I could see that there might be competition from some women .. and who knows if you really got those buttons from loved ones or just gathered them yourself... :-) still ... its a sweet thing I think..
