Two very pretty pink, lacey, delicate, elegant hats... :-) I wouldn't have anything to wear them with ... but I'm sure someone has. Those of us who frequent tea places to enjoy a cuppa with friends all dressed up in their Sunday best. It would have been an everyday occurrence back in the eighteen hundreds .......... so beautiful..... how could you not look classy and gorgeous.

Cross stitch and embroidery, all those sewing skills most of us learned when we were young... nothing nicer than beautiful roses sewn ... like the ones above. They sure add a touch of class and vintage to our rooms ...

We don't celebrate Valentines Day much back in Australia ... but it's always in my heart because it was the day I left Australia in 1999 to come here and live with my new hubby-to-be. We'd met online a year before and I travelled here to meet his family and see the country first before I made a decision on leaving my country and making a new start in Canada.

I went home and sold my house and gave all my pretty possessions to my dear friends. I brought nothing much with me except some favourite quilts, photographs and my dear doggie Wilbur.

I left on Valentine's day and arrived on Valentines Day... with the time difference and losing a day ... it wasn't much later than when I'd left. It will soon be here this year ... maybe you can use the card above to send to that special someone or to your friends etc .. whom you care about a great deal. Click on it to see it original size.

This is such a pretty teaset... I would love one of these. When I left Australia to come live here in Canada I simply could not bring everything I had with me. I gave my things away to dear friends knowing they would take good care of them and enjoy them as much as I did. I had a lovely teaset ... similar to this one..

Don't you wonder at these huge bouquets they used to have at weddings in the middle 1900's and before. When I see vintage photos I sure do wonder about the people in them. Where did they live, country or town.... what were their lives like. Did the children grow up and do something famous perhaps... maybe the little boy .. as a man... joined the armed forces and died for his country. Maybe he was a doctor perhaps or a farmer. Who knows... ???? And I wonder what they would think .. knowing here in 2008 they were gracing the pages of a thing called a "blog"... for all the world to see.
